During the week, I'm a to-go-breakfast girl. I prefer a few more minutes in my warm and cozy bed to a decent breakfast. Most days I'm fine with some bananas, toast or some over night oats. But nowadays, when the mornings are foggy and cold, I started to sacrifice some bedtime for a warm and comforting breakfast. And I loved it! Here is one of my favorite breakfasts: Oatmeal with baked apples, some pomegranate seeds drizzled with maple syrup. So good! It takes you a few minutes but the smell of cinnamon and warm apples will make you forget your cozy bed :) Here we go:

Happy December lovelies!! Let's talk about cookies: December means excessive cookie time in my kitchen. To start with my cookie marathon, I made my favorite ones: Linzer Cookies! I just love these little buttery shortbread gems filled with different jams... What are your favorite cookies? Here's the recipe for my favorite Linzer cookies:

Apples and beets are typical fall legumes. I know. And I know that November isn't exactly fall anymore. I guess I'm not totally ready for snow, soups and stews yet... Instead I made you a very delicious salad! In my eyes it's also totally wintery which makes it still seasonal and a lovely lunch or a starter for your next dinner!

My Mum wasn't exactly a strict Mum. But, there were a few rules I had to follow. One rule was no Christmas cookies before December first. I was okay with that because I knew Mum would bake various Christmas cookies by then. Somehow I still follow this rule although there's no specific reason why. Since a few days it's super grey and foggy here in Switzerland and I'm suffering from a huge Christmas cookie craving. Instead of breaking my December-first-rule, I made walnut bars!
These don't count as Christmas cookies but they are totally able to satisfy my craving. The shortbread crust combined with a layer of caramelized walnuts is just amazing...

I don't really have mood swings but I definitely have food swings! There are days, I crave for huge salad bowls, veggies and a ripe banana is able satisfy my sweet tooth. Well, but there are other days. On these days nothing can substitute bread, chocolate and butter. This is definitely a cake for these days! There's no flour in it but lots of chocolate and butter and it's soooo good! It's incredible moist and the Baileys enhances the chocolate flavor extraordinary! I couldn't resist sprinkling some Maldon sea salt on the top. The cake is gluten and nut free, which makes it suitable for people with allergies!
Let's go to chocolate heaven:

Hello lovelies!! I'm back from my trip to Dubai! It was such an amazing experience to see the middle east! Although my friend had a hard time before we left, we really enjoyed our time together and had a beautiful stay! The food in Dubai was amazing. I ate probably my weight in hummus, babaganoush, couscous, tabouleh and dates. Ah the dates... they were so sweet, soft and the perfect snack after a day at the beach or as a late night treat... Coming home, I still had a date-craving so I decided to make some healthy oat bars with a date based fudge topping. Oh my... these bars are really good and full of fiber and vitamins! Here we go:

This week has been crazy. No time for cooking a decent dinner, no time for baking a sweet something although both would be needed so much! Let me explain: One of my closest friends is going to celebrate her 30th birthday next Monday. She was sure to celebrate this special day with her boyfriend somewhere on the beach. They were together for almost 3 years before he left her this Tuesday. Without any warnings. I couldn't stand the thought of leaving her alone on her 30th birthday... So just like Carrie Bradshaw and her girls, we will spend a few days in the middle east to cheer her up: Dubai here we come!!! We will laugh and cry, talk and be silent. We will put on our nicest dresses and sip cocktails, eat cake and celebrate like nothing happened. So lovelies, please excuse I won't able to post recipes the next week... But I'll be back! :) Enjoy your time and eat cake too ;)

As much as I love chocolate, it's only a question of days, when I crave a salad. After eating lots of this amazing chocolate loaf and this freakin' delicious fudge sauce, I was definitely in the mood for a big leafy green bowl of salad. Here's a pretty nice one which is totally easy to make but still suitable as a starter when you have guests over. Let's go:

What if I told you that you could have Starbucks famous Cinnamon Chocolate Bread without any wheat, white sugar, eggs and butter? What if I told you that you could have this goodie full of fiber, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and other good stuff like magnesia, iron and calcium without any difference in taste and texture? I guess you would be thrilled! Well, it's possible! I veganized the original recipe, substituted the eggs with flax meal, the butter with olive oil, the wheat flour with spelt and the sugar with dates and some maple syrup. And it turned out amazing! Super chocolaty, moist and bursting with cinnamon flavor! Perfect for these cold fall mornings or with a warm chai tea in the afternoon... Sounds good? Though so :)
