Vegan Brownies with Avocado and Coarse Sea Salt
When I first read about baking with avocado I was very skeptical. Replacing most of the fat with avocados? Strange... But I remember, when I was introduced to vegan baking many years ago, I was skeptical too. Many delicious vegan cakes and muffins later, I quickly learned that baking without eggs and butter can be fantastic. So, why not baking with avocados eh? I found a beautiful recipe over at this great blog. These brownies looked so good, I had to give it a try! Let me tell you, baking with avocados is awesome!!!

Herbed Cauliflower Salad
Does this sound familiar to you? You are invited to a gorgeous dinner party but there is something on the table you don't like to eat. Not at all. Of course you feel that you have to eat (or at least try) it, so you won't offend your host. Familiar to you? Things get even more difficult when you see that your host made huge efforts for this dinner and your host is your boyfriend's mother. This is the story behind this cauliflower salad.

Semolina Pudding with Strawberry Sauce
This used to be my absolute favorite dessert during my entire childhood. Whenever I left home for school camps my Mom had to promise me that she would make semolina pudding for my return (which she always did). Somehow I forgot about this beautiful dessert (how could I???) but in the last few weeks I remade it several times and I every time it turned out just perfect!

Rhubarb Galette with Home-Made Vanilla Custard
When I was kid, my Mom and I had a dinner-deal: First soup, then pie. First vegetables, then sugar. I totally get that rule (probably I will do it exactly the same way with my kids). But until then, let's skip the vegetables and head directly to the sweet sugary stuff: Rhubarb Galette! (By the way, rhubarbs are vegetables, so strictly speaking this tart can be considered as a proper dinner ;).

Green Monster Soup
Green is good. Green is healthy. I need good and healthy right now. Since a few days, I'm a true living bacteria slingshot. I got the whole package with fever, headache and sore throat. Since I read that happiness fastens the recovery, I'm pampering myself (besides ginger tea and the little gems I found in the depth of my medicine cabinet) with watching silly TV shows, eating peanut butter sandwiches and reading cheesy Africa novels (yes, the really bad ones with doctors, wild animals and true romance ;). As much as I love this daily schedule, at some point I needed more. I was in the mood for cooking a super healthy (and very tasty) soup to kick those bacteria out of my system. I decided to make the greenest soup I've ever had. If everybody is drinking green smoothies those days, a green soup can't be bad, right? Wait, there's more!

Lemon Pound Cake with Yoghurt

I've had many lemon pound cakes in my life. They are somehow at every birthday party. I'm not a huge fan of them (I'm always heading to the chocolate cake on the buffet :) because lemon pound cakes are often dry, overly sweet and sticky due to the lemon syrup they are soaked with. I never bake them. Until today when a beloved co-worker said, that lemon pound cakes are her favorite cakes in the world (tomorrow is her birthday). So I went out in search of one good (and new!!) recipe. I found a lovely French blog and there was a beautiful lemon pound cake. The recipe was very different from the ones I knew, so I gave it a try. Wait, there's more!
